அஃகி அகன்ற அறிவு என் ஆம் = நுண்ணிதாய் எல்லா நூல்களினும் சென்ற தம் அறிவு என்ன பயத்ததாம்?; வெஃகி யார்மாட்டும் வெறிய செயின் = பொருளை விரும்பி யாவர்மாட்டும் அறிவொடு படாத செயல்களை அறிவுடையார் செய்வார் ஆயின். ('யார்மாட்டும் வெறிய செய்தல்' = தக்கார்மாட்டும் தகாதார்மாட்டும் இழிந்தனவும் கடியனவும் செய்தல்.)

What is the use of a mind subtle and learned in everything, if it gives in to greed and does senseless, base things to people, worthy or not? Knowledge that doesn't keep you from such acts has no real value.
