வஞ்சப் புகழ்ச்சியணி
வில் வளைவது அன்பினால் அல்ல, அம்பை எய்து உயிரைப் பறிக்கவே. அதுபோலப் பகைவர் தொழும் கைகளுள்ளும் கொலைக்கருவி மறைந்திருக்கும் என எச்சரிக்கிறார். — The archer's bow bends low not out of reverence, but to unleash a deadly arrow. Likewise, the deep bows and folding hands of a false friend conceal a lethal weapon.

நல்ல பல கற்றக் கடைத்தும்= நல்லன பலநூல்களைக் கற்றவிடத்தும்; மனம் நல்லர் ஆகுதல் மாணார்க்கு அரிது= அதனான் மனம்திருந்தி நட்பாதல் பகைவர்க்கு இல்லை.
