தற்காத்துத் தற்கொண்டான் பேணி = (கற்பினின்றும் வழுவாமல்) தன்னைக் காத்துத், தன்னைக் கொண்டவனையும் (உண்டி முதலியவற்றால்) பேணி; தகைசான்ற சொல் காத்து = (இருவர் மாட்டும்) நன்மையமைந்த புகழ் நீங்காமற் காத்து; சோர்வு இலாள் பெண் = (மேற்சொல்லிய நற்குண நற்செய்கைகளினுங்) கடைப்பிடியுடையாளே பெண்ணாவாள். (தன்மாட்டுப் புகழாவது, வாழ ுமூர் கற்பால் தன்னைப் புகழ்வது. சோர்வு = மறவி.)
