Returning what was given

One's children are indeed their true wealth; and the children's own wealth is earned by the fruit of their own upright deeds.

தம்பொருள் என்பதம் மக்கள் அவர்பொருள்
தம்தம் வினையான் வரும்

பிறவும் தமபோல் செயின்

One who does not wish suffering to pursue and torment oneself must never inflict harmful deeds upon others.

தீப்பால தான்பிறர்கண் செய்யற்க நோய்ப்பால
தன்னை அடல்வேண்டா தான்

Giving to the truly destitute who possess nothing is genuine charity; giving to others resembles a loan made with the expectation of a return.

வறியார்க்கொன்று ஈவதே ஈகைமற் றெல்லாம்
குறியெதிர்ப்பை நீர துடைத்து

பிறர்க்கின்னா முற்பகல் செய்யின் தமக்குஇன்னா
பிற்பகல் தாமே வரும்
