நெடும் கடலும் தன் நீர்மை குன்றும் = அளவில்லாத கடலும் தன்னியல்பு குறையும்; எழிலி தான் தடிந்து நல்காது ஆகி விடின் = மேகந்தான் அதனைக் குறைத்து அதன்கட் பெய்யாது விடுமாயின். (தன்னியல்பு குறைதலாவது, நீர்வாழ் உயிர்கள் பிறவாமையும், மணிமுதலாயின படாமையும் ஆம். மழைக்கு முதலாய கடற்கும் மழை வேண்டும் என்பதாம்.)
