ஒறுத்தார்க்கு ஒரு நாளை இன்பம் — தமக்குத் தீங்கு செய்தவனை ஒறுத்தார்க்கு உண்டாவது, அவ்வொரு நாளை இன்பமே; பொறுத்தார்க்குப் பொன்றும் துணையும் புகழ் — அதனைப் பொறுத்தார்க்கு உலகம் அழியும் அளவும் புகழ் உண்டாம். (உரைவிளக்கம்: 'ஒருநாளை இன்பம்' அந்நாள் ஒன்றினும் கருதியது முடித்தேம் எனத் தருக்கியிருக்கும் பொய்யின்ப ம்.)
